The OmniAXS Gateway Switch provides toll-quality calling by converting voice to IP at the edge of the network, then concentrating it to interface with existing circuit-switched facilities. It has several mechanisms to compensate for jitter or packet loss over public or private IP backbones. In managed IP networks, the OmniAXS Gateway Switch provides all this at one-tenth the bandwidth required by traditional circuit-switched TDM equipment.
